Independent review of mechanical designs
A service offered to both Architect/Engineering (A/E) firms, as well as facility owners, is the independent review and comment upon mechanical designs of central utility systems, HVAC, and other design documents. Reviews include comments and input on P&IDs, plans, sections, elevations, mechanical schedules, book specifications, etc.
An independent review of a design package prior to issue by an A/E firm is beneficial from the aspect of having a "fresh set of eyes" providing comments, questions and suggestions prior to issuing to the Owner, Contractors or Authority Having Jurisdiction.
A review of either new or existing design documents is beneficial as it provides an set of reviewer comments and questions by an experienced professional to mitigate potential issues during design, construction and startup.
Note that the service provided only covers review comments, questions and suggestions. The review process does not redesign or change the reviewed documents; that is the responsibility of the original design firm.
